Distribution: Canary Islands

Weight:  12-28 g

Size:  4-8 inches in length

Distinct Markings: Canaries are commonly yellow, but they can also be red-orange, white, pink, and many shades of brown.

 

The canary's beautiful song and color and its charming nature have endeared it to many bird enthusiasts. All canaries originate from the same species, but there are three types, or breeds, popular in the United States: color-bred canaries, type canaries and song canaries.
